Elaine Hogan, on the right, Clermont Garden Club member,  shares a bromeliad plant for the month of January with Cooper Memorial Library.   Cary Storin accepts the bromeliad for the library.

Bromeliads are typically low maintenance and easy to grow.  There are 3 basic types of bromeliads.

1.  Saxicolors bromeliads grow on rocks.  Their roots find water and nutrients in the cracks.

2.  Terrestrial bromeliads grow in the ground like regular plants.  Water when soil is dry.

3.  Epiphytic bromeliads grow on other plants and even on telephone poles.  They get their nutrients and moisture from the atmosphere.

Clermont Garden Club members meet every third Wednesday of the month except scheduled field trips,  holiday luncheon, and end of the year luncheon, at the clubhouse located at 849 West Avenue,  Clermont,  Florida 34711.

New members and guests are warmly welcome.

Clermont Garden Club is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization.
