Clermont Garden Club’s 1st Holiday Tea, Saturday December 7, 2019

 

Members of Clermont Garden Club and guest enjoyed a variety of delicious home made cookies, scones, tarts, petit fours, brittle, cupcakes, fudge, nuts, and candies. What a spread!

Tables were beautifully decorated by Clermont Garden Club members. All of the tables were designed differently and all were gorgeous.

Clermont Garden Club members, Ruth Webb, Arlene Rand, and Ann Ellis showed off their design expertise as they created 2 designs while discussing the techniques of floral design.

Lin, Lin -Lin, a member of Clermont Garden Club, demonstrated how Tea Service is done in Taiwan.

Joanne Solomon, past Clermont Garden Club member, explained the legend behind how people in China began to drink tea and why the pinky finger is held out while drinking tea. Joanne explained the various types of teas. She also discussed using proper teapots and growing lemongrass to use in tea.

Teens from Interact (Rotary) at South Lake H.S. were on hand volunteering to help with Tea Service. The six young ladies were a tremendous help and so very gracious as they moved around the room.

Clermont Garden Club members meet every third Wednesday of the month (except scheduled field trips, Holiday Luncheon, and May End of the Year Luncheon) at the clubhouse located at 849 West Avenue, Clermont, Florida 34711. Meetings begin at 10:00 A.M. New members and guests are warmly welcome.
