A PLANT FOR THE LIBRARY

Carol and library plant (2)Carol Walker, (on the right) a member of the Clermont Garden Club, is pictured here with Librarian Amy Hand at Cooper Memorial Library.  Carol is displaying her “SANSEVIERIA TRIFASCIATA” this month at the library. This plant is native to tropical and sub-tropical regions of Europe, Africa, and Asia. It’s commonly known as the Snake Plant, Saint George’s Sword, or Mother-In-Law’s Tongue. To care for these plants, allow soil to dry between watering, take extra care not to over water in winter, also try to avoid getting leaves wet when you water. They thrive in indirect light (although they are tolerant of a variety of light conditions). It is a good indoor plant as it cleans the air and it has the ability to absorb excess amounts of carbon monoxide and emits oxygen.

Clermont Garden Club members meet every third Wednesday of the month at the clubhouse,  849 West Avenue,  Clermont,  Florida 34711.  Meetings begin at 10:A.M.  New members and guests are warmly welcome.
